New Applicants - Provisional Registration
When applying to register with the College, choose the New applicant - provisional registration registration type if:
- You are a new graduate from a master's degree program in counselling therapy; and
- You are working towards completing the 450 Direct Client Contact hours; and/or
- You have not passed the CCTPEI Registration Exam (COMPASS).
To apply for CCTPEI provisional registration, you must:
- Set up an account in the online registration system - HMS
- Complete all mandatory information in your profile and upload the mandatory documents:
- Basic, contact, and employment information
- Upload proof of completed education (if you have not written your master's yet, upload a letter from your educational institution confirming your intent to graduate)
- Upload proof of 2M professional liability insurance
- Upload a valid criminal record check document
- Review and sign the legal statement
- Pay the application fee
- Pay the registration fee
Completing the COMPASS Exam
After you have completed all requirements listed above, follow the steps to complete the COMPASS exam.
The exam is offered twice per year, in the spring and the fall, subject to change.
Note that the provisional registration may not be reinstated and may be renewed only once. This means you have approximately one year to complete your DCC hours and the COMPASS exam and become a general registrant of the College with no conditions to practice.
